Liguria is first and foremost known for its food. The region is home to the famous pesto sauce and Ligurian olive oil is acknowledged by international chefs as a first-class cooking ingredient. In addition, the vegetables of the nearby growers in Albenga are world famous. No wonder the area around Villa Barca is dotted with great addresses for foodies. If you don't shy away from a little appetite enhancing hike you can even start your next culinary adventure right from your suite. Otherwise, a short car ride widens the choice of fine restaurants and trattorias tenfold. Of course, we will be happy to assist you with recommendations and reservations. Also, if you have chanced upon some interesting farmers market or gone shopping in one of the valley’s little groceries, you can use our outside summer kitchen with barbecue and picnic table for your ‘al fresco’ dinners. Guests of the suite “Il Giardino” even have their own fully equipped kitchen available. Keep this in mind when selecting your favorite room.

“La Capella” is all about giving the spirit and soul a little break. This small garden chapel was commissioned in the late 18th century by the original owner of Villa Barca, Giovanni Maurizio, personal advocate to the Duke of Savoy, who later became the first king of Italy. Today it is a multi-denominational room of stillness and contemplation. If you want to begin your day with some meditation, practicing yoga, or, just enjoy the absolute peace of this space - feel free to enter!
Occasionally, "La Capella" hosts concerts or art exhibitions and our guests are more than welcome to attend these events. Arrangements can also be made to use this spiritual space in our extraordinary setting for your own private ceremonies like weddings, engagements, and, renewal of vows. “La Cappella” offers the right atmosphere for any special occasion.
